That's what friends call a certain genre of movies I like. Can you believe that?? I like movies that portray women as capable, intelligent and strong. That is a whole different animal than a movie that portrays men in a negative light, don't you think?Some of my favorites:

Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood
Charms for the Easy Life (I want to be just like Miss Charlie Kate when I grow up!)
Little Women
Miss Potter (Just watched this last night for the first time. LOVED it!)
Anne of Green Gables
Hope Floats
Pride and Prejudice (Who could hate men after watching this one?)
Dante's Peak
Miss Congeniality
Twister (LOVE the cow!)
Sense and Sensibility
Under the Tuscan Sun (A couple of inappropriate scenes, though)
The Secret Garden...not sure this fits the genre, but I really like it.
So, are these man-hater movies or strong women movies? Can't they be the latter without being the former? Most of these movies are pretty darned romantic, if you ask me. Do you have any similar movies you could add to my list? I'm looking for a few more!
