60 Books Project

University of Wisconsin News - “[T]he Bone Folders’ Guild, a Madison-based book arts group, created 60 blank journals and distributed them to each of the 60 libraries in Wisconsin’s South Central Library System. The project drew a wide range of participants-from farmers and bankers to children and the elderly-who contributed their own unique flavor to the journals."

The journals are now complete, have been digitally scanned and are available to review on the internet here. What creativity! I have only looked at a few of the books, and only a few pages in those books, but they are interesting and sometimes very impressive. The picture here is a page from the Lakeview book.

This is the first verse of a poem written by Cari M., age 10, entitled I am:

I am creative and caring.
I wonder when the war will be over.
I hear big booms of thunder.
I see flashes of lightning in the night sky.
I want peace on earth.
I am creative and caring.

Check it out and let me know what you think.
