Loving Jesus through My Blahs

I've been up on the mountan top
Full of awe and celebration.
I've also dwelled inside the pit
Begging God for inspiration.

Experiences like that have taught,
Extremes don't last for long.
Instead what I encounter most
Is the average dance and song.

No shocking highs, No desperate lows
Just day-to-day frustrations
And that is where what matters most
Is great communication.

Not with my spouse, my kids or boss,
Though that's important, too.
A consistent walk with my best friend
Is what brings me safely through.

The blah-ish times is where I find
My weaknesses to be
At greatest risk, the most exposed,
For my guard is down, you see.

So when you enter average days
Resist the urge to coast
Stay close beside our Savior, 'cuz
That's when you need Him the most!

Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do. - Joshua 1:8
