When my daughter and I walked out of the gym at 6:15am this morning, it was already muggy and hot. The sun was barely up! I started in on my regular whine..."It's sooooo hot! I can't believe...." and I stopped. Instead, I scrambled for something to praise God for. With as much gratitude I could muster, I spontaneously uttered:"I'm alive, there are trees and I hear a bird!" It was effective. My daughter, who was in the process of quenching her thirst at that precise moment, ended up baptizing the parking lot. That made us both laugh so hard we couldn't walk straight!
For us, joy came in the morning!
